I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker and have over 10 years experience in human services. I have been providing psychotherapy services to youth, families and adults in a variety of settings for the past 6 years. I am trained as a generalist to provide quality mental health services to all age groups. I am currently providing individual, couples and family therapy. I see children as young as 3 years old.
My areas of specialization include: disorders of children and adolescents such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Pervasive Developmental Disorders (Autism, Asperger's Disorder), and Attachment Disorders. I also specialize in family relationship problems such as parenting issues and parent-child relationship conflicts. Other areas of expertise include Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Adjustment issues, Personality Disorders and grief and loss.
Treatment approaches are primarily Cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques. I also utilize play therapy techniques, solution-focused, and narrative therapy. I teach cognitive restructuring, effective communication skills, relaxation strategies, stress management, anger control strategies and other positive coping skills. I use strengths based and family systems approaches to enhance sense of identity, self-esteem and confidence.
