I am excited to join WKM Psychology Clinic, Inc. as an American Nurses Credentialing center board certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. For the past 32 years I have been involved in psychiatric nursing in a variety of ways, almost all in rural health care settings. Out of a desire to increase access to rural mental health services, in 2009 I returned to the University of Wisconsin-Madison to complete a post-graduate Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.

There is a large body of evidence which supports a combined use of therapy and psychoactive medication as offering the best possibility for enhanced treatment outcomes. My goal is to work collaboratively with WKM therapists and their patients when the use of medication presents as a therapeutic option. As a nurse prescriber my focus will be individual psychiatric medication management. As a registered nurse and former nurse educator I bring to the clinic a holistic view of the individual and an enthusiasm for patient education.
